Bidwell Family Reunion

 spacer.gif - 1kbThe 2007 BFA Reunion will be held at the Best Western Asheville Biltmore, 22 Woodfin Street, Asheville, NC 28801, Thursday, June 12th through Monday, June 16th, 2008. Reservations can be made by calling the Inn at (828)253-1851 prior to May 22, 2007. Be sure to mention the group name Bidwell Family Reunion to ensure the group rate of $79.95 Thursday, Sunday & Monday nights and $90.95 Friday & Saturday nights.

Daily Schedule

Thursday: Arrival if desired, spend time on your own and meet with Bidwell Cousins.

Friday: After lunch on your own, the Board of Directors will meet (the time to be determined). The evening is free to explore and/or spend time with our cousins.

Saturday: Breakfast on your own, followed by the Annual Business meeting. From 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM we will be going on the Asheville Historic Trolley Tour. The cost is $16.50 per person, (gratuities included). At 6:30 PM we meet for a Dinner Buffet w/ three entrees at a cost of $33:50 per person, to be followed by our Auction.

Sunday: Meet at 9:30 AM for a brief Memorial Service, followed by a Deluxe Breakfast Buffet, the cost is $16.50. At 12:30 PM we leave on a bus tour of the famous Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway followed by a visit to the Thomas Wolfe Memorial in downtown Asheville. The cost for the tour is $17.00 per person (gratuities included).

Monday: Leave at 9:00 AM for a day at the famous Biltmore Estate. We will tour the mansion (the largest private family home in North America), stroll through the Gardens, followed by a family style lunch at the Deer Park Inn on the Estate and fmish the day with a tour of the Winery. The cost for the day is $72.00 (gratuities included).

Pat and I have worked really hard to put this reunion together and I’m concerned that the costs of the tours and meals is a bit high. However, we need to remember that Asheville is a very popular vacation and tourist destination. We really need your support in making this reunion a success, for without a good turnout and participation the cost to the BFA could be very high. Please, also consider hosting a reunion in the future. If we don’t get folks to step up and help the BFA will be a thing of the past!!!!!
